The Rev. Pedro Duro-on of Davao city died peacefully in Davao City last Sunday morning, Oct. 20, 2013.  Brother Pedro had been tried with a lingering illness for the last two years. He was 73 years old when he died.

Many remembers brother Duro-on as one of the pioneer Visayan pastors in Mindanao and the Visayas Islands. He pioneered the Methodist Mission to the Visayan in Mindanao by recruiting Visayan young people to the ministry. He was also appointed as frontier pastor to the Visayan communities to start Methodist congregations.

When the Methodist Mission to the Visayas Islands was started in 1980’s he was among those who responded to call of frontier mission ministry. He was later appointed as district superintendent to supervised the work.

As a co-worker who work with him in the ministry, I would consider that his best contribution to the ministry is the start and growth of the Methodist Visayan churches in the Davao Episcopal Area.
He is survived by his wife, Esther Duro-on and four children and grandchildren.

The Ministerial record of brother Duro-on is as follows:
