It is the pleasure of the General Board of Global Ministries to inform the Philippine church that three young adult mission interns are coming to the Philippines to serve there for 17 months, beginning in late August, 2012 until January 31, 2014.
These Mission Interns are the following:
•Albert Longe, from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, a graduate of Africa University, who will be working at KKFI;
•Laura Wise, from Texas, who has consulted with the General Board of Church and Society on the issue of mass incarceration, who will be working with InPeace in Mindanao (Davao), and;
•Christian Zigbuo, from Liberia, a graduate of Africa University, who will also be working with InPeace in Mindanao. Christian is featured in a UMNS news – see this link -http://www.umc.org/site/apps/nlnet/content3.aspxc=lwL4KnN1LtH&b=5259669&ct=11974619
The three young people will be needing our prayers and partnership, guidance and pastoral care as they enter a context that is completely new and foreign to them.
We are also happy to inform you that for the first time, a young adult from the Philippines – Christian Love Daroy, from the East Mindanao Annual Conference has joined the Mission Intern program, and will serve in Grenada.
The coming of the three intern is a program of the General Board of Global Ministry in the perspective of partnership and solidarity.
Filipino young people who are interested in this program may contact G.B.G.M. through:
