CONSTITUTION OF THE NATIONAL CLERGY SPOUSES ASSOCIATION
THE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH IN THE PHILIPPINES.
ARTICLE I- NAME AND HEADQUARTERS
There shall be an association of the clergy spouses in The United Methodist Church in the Philippines. Its name shall be called National Clergy Spouses Association of The United Methodist Church in the Philippines. Its headquarters shall be in The Methodist Headquarters, Manila.
ARTICLE II- PURPOSE
Its purpose shall be: To unite the clergy spouses in Christian Fellowship and Worship; Study and Program, Service and Witness; and Membership and Finance; To work with the Annual Conference Clergy Spouses Association; To initiate programs and services which would develop and strengthen Clergy Spouses in their witness at home, church and community; To develop a sense of personal responsibility for the mission of the church; To recommend programs and services to the Board of Women’s work for the upliftment of the quality of the life of women, families, groups, and communities, and to respond to the request of the same Board.
ARTICLE III- MEMBERSHIP
The National Clergy Spouses Association of The United Methodist Church in the Philippines will be composed of the spouses of clergy in active service, spouses of clergy on leave, spouses of the clergy who are retired and widows of clergy.
All members as spelled in Article III are members of a District Association. The District Association makes up the Annual Conference Association. All Annual Conference Association make up the national Association.
ARTICLE V- ELECTED OFFICERS
The officers of the National Association shall be a President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Public Relations Officer, Auditor; Spouses of Bishops and past National Presidents will serve as advisers.
ARTICLE V- MEETINGS
There shall be a biennial Meeting or Conventions, and the Cabinet or Execom will meet at least 2-3 times a year as may deem necessary.
ARTICLE VI- CONNECTIONAL ASSOCIATION
The National Association shall be represented in the Philippine Central Conference through the Board of Women’s Work.
This Constitution shall be amended by the National Assembly by two thirds votes of all members present.

THE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH IN THE PHILIPPINES.
ARTICLE I- ELECTED OFFICERS
Section I: The officers of the National Clergy Spouses Association in The United Methodist in the Philippines shall be a President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Public Relations Officer, Auditor; and advisers. These officers will also be the Executive committee and will meet as it deem necessary.
The officers shall be elected biennially and may be reelected; the period of service shall be limited to four consecutive years or a quadrennium.
Section II- The duties of the officers shall be:
A. The president shall preside at all meetings of the Association and Executive Committee
meetings. She shall interpret he work and purpose of the Association and represent the clergy spouses Association to the Board of Women’s Work. She is an ex-officio member of all the Committee.
B. The Vice-President acts as a presiding officer in the absence of the president. She may also
act as a liaison officer of the National Association to the Annual Conference Association.
C. The Secretary shall keep accurate records of members and minutes of meetings programs
and other activities of the Association. She shall take care of the correspondences needed by the Association.
D. The Treasurer shall receive and keep funds of the Association. She shall disburse all
authorized /budgeted expenses and amount for them by proper vouchers. She shall present an audited financial statement to the Executive Committee and to the National Biennial assembly.
E. The Public Relations Officer shall be responsible for Press Releases of all important actions
and activities of the Association. She shall disseminate information concerning the Association.
F. The Auditor shall examine financial records and audit money. She shall also perform other
functions as may be provided by the Executive Committee.
ARTICLE II- FUNCTIONS OF THE COMMITTEES
Section 1: A. the Committee on Fellowship and Worship initiates programs to foster Christian fellowship; nurture members toward becoming a caring and redemptive community; provides worship experiences for a deeper commitment to God and His will; to provide tools for a caring ministry at home, in the church and in the community.
B. The Committee on Study and Program prepares, develops and utilizes material for continuous learning experiences of clergy spouses; top provide opportunities for teaching-learning experiences for growth and development; and to equip espouses for their leadership role in developing other leaders.
C. The Committee on Service and Witness initiates, support and advocate for programs and services which would meet the needs of families, church and communities at home and in other parts of the world.
D. The Committee on Membership and Finance initiates and develops programs that would promote meaningful participation of all clergy spouses; determine policies for finances; to develop strategies for fund raising to support programs, projects and services.
E. The Nominating Committee shall nominate persons as candidates for election at the
National Association without prejudice for any nominations from the floor. The Nominating committee shall be composed of the Bishop’s Spouses and past presidents of the National Association.
F. The chairpersons of each Committee shall present their program recommendations of their particular areas of concern to the Biennial Assembly and to the Executive Committee. Upon approval of their programs they help implement the program and give report to the Executive committee and to the National Biennial assembly.
Section II- Task Force may be organized to carry out specific programs and projects related to the work of the different Committees and are dissolved after its completion.
The by-laws shall be amended by the National Assembly by two thirds votes of all members present.
