Mindanao Methodist Bible School Graduation

11 young people will complete their one year Certificate of Christian Leadership studies at the Mindanao Methodist Bible School in Apokon, Tagum City, today March 21, 2012. The guest speaker during the graduation ceremony is the Rev. Dr Rim, Yong Tack, the Senior Pastor of Anyang Global Methodist Church in South Korea. Several Korean Missionaries in Davao will be in attendance together with the two district superintendent of the East Mindanao Annual conference of the United Methodist Church, the Revs. Reuel Miguel and Abraham Perasol. All of these graduating youth comes from poor families. The Certificate of Christian Leadership studies serves as a formation of their character to prepare them to face the rigor of college studies or vocational course that will prepare them to take their place in society as a good Christian citizen of our own country. Former graduates of the Bible School four years ago will also be graduating this summer from the University of Southeastern Philippines in Tagum City.

Their studies at the Mindanao Methodist Bible School and in college or vocational courses is sponsored by the Rev. and Mrs. Choi Yung Hee, and their sponsoring church, Anyang Global Methodist Church in South Korea. The purposes of the ministry of Rev. and Mrs. Choi Yung Hee and their sponsoring church are: 1. Alleviate poverty 2. Develop our youth to become good and useful citizen of our country, 3. Develop Christian laity who will provide leadership in our local churches; 4. Develop a pool of resources of lay speakers in the churches in Mindanao; 5. Develop the poor young people to become skilled professionals and with their income support the ministry of their local church communities.

Applicants to this program shall submit their application to the Director of the School, the Rev. Janeth Rufino, together with an endorsement  from their pastor and the District Superintendent.
